SalafiMatch vs Muzz
Both offer free ways to connect. The important choice is the religious focus and the rules around photographs and family involvement. SalafiMatch has a specific Salafi/Ahlehadith focus and does not permit sisters' profile photos. Muzz describes a broader Muslim audience and offers photo-privacy settings.

Start with your religious priorities
If you want a Salafi-focused marriage service where sisters do not upload profile photographs, that is a product rule on SalafiMatch. It does not depend on each sister finding and enabling a blur setting. Profile review is still not a guarantee of anyone's sincerity or character.
The same questions, side by side
| What matters | SalafiMatch | Muzz |
|---|---|---|
| Religious focus | Specifically for Salafi and Ahlehadith Muslims seeking marriage; profiles are reviewed before going live. | Muzz explicitly welcomes Muslim sects and practising levels broadly.[1] |
| Sisters' profile photographs | Sisters cannot upload profile photos and use illustrations. Brothers control photo-view requests. | Photos are supported; women can show, hide or blur them and reveal them to chosen matches.[2] |
| Wali involvement | A sister's first message triggers a free WhatsApp notification to her wali with the brother's details and contact number. This is notification, not transcript monitoring. | Optional Chaperone Mode shares weekly chat transcripts after a wali's email is added and setup completed.[3] |
| Free core | Profile creation and browsing are free. Five conversation starts in total; unlimited replies. Premium is optional. | Discovering profiles, matching and chatting are free; Gold adds optional features.[4] |
| Starting contact | An enquiry can contain a short note. Ongoing chat opens after acceptance. A noted enquiry uses a start; decline returns it, self-cancellation does not. | Free chat after matching; Instant Chat is a separate way to contact someone before a match.[5] |
The core of SalafiMatch is free
Create your profile, browse approved members and contact potential matches without buying a subscription. Premium is optional; the free conversation allowance is explained below.
- Five conversation starts in total for the lifetime of your free account - not five per month and not five individual messages.
- Unlimited replies to people who contact you, without using your five-start allowance.
- An enquiry without a message is free. Adding a short message uses one conversation start when you send it.
- If that enquiry is declined, the conversation start is returned. Cancelling your own enquiry does not currently return it.
- The first message a sister sends in a conversation triggers a WhatsApp notification to her wali with the brother's details, including his contact number. This does not require premium. Use a valid, current WhatsApp number; delivery is not guaranteed.
When Muzz may fit your needs
Muzz may suit someone who wants a wider Muslim audience, photo controls and optional weekly chat transcripts for a wali. Its chaperone feature provides a different kind of involvement from SalafiMatch's contact notification; neither should be described as the other.
Questions to settle before joining
- Do you want Salafi eligibility or a wider range of Muslim practices?
- Is not uploading a sister's photo important, or would optional blurring meet your needs?
- Do you want a wali contact notification, chat transcripts, or a family-led process outside the app?
