SalafiMatch vs Salams
SalafiMatch is specifically for Salafi and Ahlehadith marriage searches. Salams presents marriage alongside friendship and networking. If you want a marriage-only purpose and a clear rule against sisters' profile photographs, those are the SalafiMatch commitments to examine first.

Start with your religious priorities
On SalafiMatch, religious focus and sisters' photo restrictions are part of the service. The free account also allows you to participate: create a profile, browse, initiate up to five conversations in total and reply without a membership quota. You can evaluate the core process before deciding about premium.
The same questions, side by side
| What matters | SalafiMatch | Salams |
|---|---|---|
| Religious focus and purpose | Specifically for Salafi and Ahlehadith Muslims seeking marriage; profiles are reviewed before going live. | Describes a Muslim audience, with marriage, friendship and networking modes; the reviewed overview does not establish Salafi-only eligibility.[1] |
| Sisters' profile photographs | Sisters cannot upload profile photos and use illustrations. Brothers control photo-view requests. | The reviewed overview does not establish a no-photo rule for sisters. Confirm current upload and visibility controls directly. |
| Wali involvement | A sister's first message triggers a free WhatsApp notification to her wali with the brother's details and contact number. This is notification, not transcript monitoring. | The reviewed overview does not specify a wali workflow. This is an unverified detail, not proof that no feature exists. |
| Free core | Profile creation and browsing are free. Five conversation starts in total; unlimited replies. Premium is optional. | Exact current free messaging allowances were not established from the reviewed page; check in the app before deciding. |
| Profile review | Profiles are reviewed before publication; no review guarantees character or sincerity. | The official website describes manual verification by its support team.[1] |
The core of SalafiMatch is free
Create your profile, browse approved members and contact potential matches without buying a subscription. Premium is optional; the free conversation allowance is explained below.
- Five conversation starts in total for the lifetime of your free account - not five per month and not five individual messages.
- Unlimited replies to people who contact you, without using your five-start allowance.
- An enquiry without a message is free. Adding a short message uses one conversation start when you send it.
- If that enquiry is declined, the conversation start is returned. Cancelling your own enquiry does not currently return it.
- The first message a sister sends in a conversation triggers a WhatsApp notification to her wali with the brother's details, including his contact number. This does not require premium. Use a valid, current WhatsApp number; delivery is not guaranteed.
When Salams may fit your needs
Salams may fit someone seeking a broader Muslim social experience as well as marriage. Its website describes manual user verification. That is a relevant feature to acknowledge, although it does not establish the same eligibility policy as SalafiMatch.
Questions to settle before joining
- Do you want marriage alone, or friendship and networking too?
- What photographs are required and who can see them?
- What exactly can your wali access, and which actions require payment?
Sources and comparison method
We compare the same practical criteria using the service's own public information. An unverified detail is labelled as such; it does not mean a feature is absent. Check current terms before paying. We do not copy member profiles, rank individuals or award ourselves a score.
